Diontae Spencer WR/KR/PR, New Iberia native and McNeese State Cowboy crushed his pro day today and showed all 19 NFL Scouts in attendance why he is deserving of hearing his name called at the NFL Draft.
The NFL is about speed and Diontae Spencer is lightning fast. He put up the best time of any wide receiver in this years draft class so far, posting a low 4.27 40 yard dash with an average of 4.34 for the 40 yard dash – he basically burned up the track. Diontae wasn’t finished there, the 5’9″ speedster just about jumped out of the building with a 40″ inch Vertical jump. One of the Scouts had him over 40 but was talked down by the rest of the group.
Displaying more speed and agility Diontae went on to record a blazing 3.96 short shuttle and then a torrid 6.40 in the L- Cone Drill. And to show he has the strength to go with the speed Diontae put up 13 reps on the Bench Press.
After running routes and finishing up the work out, Diontae was approached by a number of scouts and hopes to attend some private work outs in the next couple of weeks.
“I have been preparing for this day since I was 13 years old,” said Diontae. “I am ready to show the world what I can do if given the opportunity.”
